CECHE’s Collaborative Multi-Disciplinary and Solutions-Oriented Approach
CECHE aims to advance health and well-being using a solutions-driven lens. Our work builds on longstanding partnerships with communities and decision-makers across Chicago and beyond who have experienced the impacts of extreme weather on health and well-being firsthand. We expand our traditional public health methods and approaches towards innovative solutions by partnering with biologists, climate scientists, urban planners, engineers, foresters, food systems experts, and municipal governments. Situated in the heart of Chicago and building on expansive, cutting-edge, multidisciplinary research, UIC is ideally suited to lead CECHE and to tackle these complex challenges.
